Zodiac Ghost Tropes

Hey Baby, What’s Your Ghost Trope?

Sure, you know what the stars say about your traits and patterns, but what about your hauntings?

Here is our cheeky interpretation of each Zodiac Sign’s Ghost Trope. And please remember, this is not science (fiction).

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Cardinal Fire Sign; The Ram; Ruled by Mars

Aries are considered the “baby of the zodiac” because they are the first sign and the ruler of the First House of Self. Which perfectly aligns with their playfulness, impulsiveness, curiosity, self-adoration, and desire to win. So which Ghost Trope suits the “me-centric” Aries?

Aries Ghost Trope: That pesky Mischievous Little Boy often seen roaming the halls of abandoned schools, asylums, and hospitals is most definitely an Aries. Many have experienced the little boy rolling balls down corridors, pulling women’s hair, blowing in ears, and sneaking around corners, playfully encouraging the living to notice him in the darkness.

Compatibility: Aries is down with the similarly adventurous Sagittarius, “Look at me!” Leos, or the never-a-dull-moment Gemini.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

Fixed Earth Sign; The Bull; Ruled by Venus

Ghost in the Mirror

The first earth sign of the zodiac, Taureans are the friends you can count on, especially if you’re counting on living large and following their rules. They work hard and enjoy the fruits of their labor; since Venus rules them, they are all about looking good and being in love.

Taurus Ghost Trope: The Face in the Mirror that isn’t yours is probably the spirit of a Taurean trying to sort out how they got on the other side of your reflection and how they will get the mirror to look back at them.

Compatibility: Taurus is often drawn to the service-oriented Virgo, sensitive home-body Cancer, or the natural entrepreneur Capricorn.

Gemini (May 21-June 20)

Mutable Air Sign; The Twins; Ruled by Mercury

The windy, airy Gemini can be found roaming the internet for the next project that piques their interest, only to change their mind once they’ve bought all the supplies to become completely proficient in their new hobby. And then change their mind again. Their mercurial energy keeps them in a state of energetic wonder as they explore the subtle signs of communication with every new person they meet.

Gemini Ghost Trope: True to the Twin, Geminis have two tropes that are perfect representations: Shapeshifters and EVPs. Geminis have the ability to morph into whatever or whomever they wish to be, and because they love to hear themselves talk, Electronic Voice Phenomenons are 100% Gemini.

Compatibility: Geminis are great with their air counterparts, Aquarius and Libra; together, these air signs are gusty. Geminis also find themselves drawn to the flames of their astrological opposite, Sagittarius, and sister fire Aries, where they enjoy fanning the flames for a heated union.

Cancer (June 21-July 21)

Cardinal Water Sign; The Crab; Ruled by the Moon

Lady In White

Home, family, and emotional security are the tenets of a happy sensitive Cancer life. Cancers nurture everything and everyone around them and love weekends at home full of giggles and hugs from the ones they love.

Cancer Ghost Trope: The lady in white who won’t leave her house and is in perpetual mourning over the loss of her lover is absolutely a Cancer.

Compatibility: Cancers’ fellow water signs (Pisces and Scorpio) get cancer’s watery emotions and sensitivity. And because those earth momma Virgos love to be in-service, they are also great partners for the open-hearted Cancerian.

Leo (July 22-August 22)

Fixed Fire Sign; The Lion; Ruled by the Sun

These charismatic leaders can be set in their ways, which is probably why they usually get their way. Leos are hard to miss; they shine like their ruling sun and radiate warmth. Their confidence, integrity, and honest sense of self puts them front and center, where they can show off their new outfit or fabulous mane of hair.

Leo Ghost Trope: Nothing screams, “Leo Ghost!” like the apparition of a high-ranking soldier. The spectre dressed in period military garb who roams the grounds of a stately manner is sure to be a lost Leo soul.

Compatibility: Sagittarius, Aries, and Gemini are fantastic matches for the proud Leo. Leo’s fixed flame mesmerizes their fellow fire signs, and the Gemini-Leo union is full of ambition balanced by their mutual desire to master all endeavors.

Virgo (August 23-September 22)

Mutable Earth Sign; The Virgin; Ruled by Mercury

Grounded nurturers and organized caretakers, Virgos tend to step over their own mess to clean up the disaster left by the one they love. Virgos have the gift of gab and can talk to just about anyone. They are often indecisive but know exactly how they like things to be.

Virgo Ghost Trope: If you have ever investigated an abandoned asylum or hospital, then you may have experienced the ghost of a nurse roaming the halls looking for patients who need her. This Virgo spirit will spend eternity as a caregiver.

Compatibility: Virgos’ patience and thoughtfulness make them compatible with just about everyone. But the ones who make them feel most needed are Scorpios, Capricorns, Taurus, and Cancers.

Libra (September 23-October 22)

Cardinal Air Sign; The Scales; Ruled by Venus

Forest Orbs“I hear you, but what about this?” Libras love creative mediation and romantic harmony.  These airy fairies will paint the big picture and ensure everyone gets equal parts in bringing it to life.

Libra Ghost Trope: Libras always have a pocket full of pixie dust; the Libra Ghost Trope manifests itself as a bright bouncing Orb dancing across your photos of cemeteries, swamps, and mystical forests.

Compatibility: Libras are comfortable around their sister air signs, Gemini and Aquarius, but find themselves drawn like a fairy to the flame energies of Leo, Sagittarius, and Aries.

Scorpio (October 23-November 21)

Fixed Water Sign; The Scorpion; Ruled by Mars and Pluto

The secretive Scorpio with one-word stingers is known to be a tom cat in the sack. They are engaging and enchanting but also a bit stuck in their ways. Their mysteriousness is charming; however, don’t try to change their mind or make them mad; their stinger will strike where you are the most vulnerable.

Scorpio Ghost Trope: The dark shadow figure hovering above you while you sleep is 100% Scorpio. Succubus or incubus, they’re after some deep dark lovin’.

Compatibility: Cancers and Virgos are great with Scorpios because of their patience and understanding of Scorpio’s possessiveness and their appreciation of Scorpio’s sensuality and passion in the bedroom. Leos and Scorpios, lookout, your union equals too many chefs in the kitchen.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)

Mutable Fire Sign; The Archer/Centaur; Ruled by Jupiter

Spirited truth-seekers, personal philosophers, and dogma-curious, Saggies have an incurable wanderlust and should never be stalled or caged. Their free equine spirit is their life force. Please know they sincerely hope you won’t be offended by their honesty and lack of tact.

Sagittarius Ghost Trope: The invisible thing your cat chases or your dog barks at, or the mysterious wind your horse spooks and runs with, is positively the ghost of an animal-loving and critter-whispering Sagittarius.  No pets? Then you may find the Sag spectre roaming sacred ruins or ancient temples, forever searching for the Truth.

Compatibility: Burn, baby, burn if paired up with other fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) or smoldering embers when fanned by air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius); either way, you get intense passion with a mutual love of adventure.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19)

Cardinal Earth Sign; The Goat; Ruled by Saturn

Ambitious, determined, and driven, with a side of cool, calm, and collected, is Capricorn. They see the big picture and love delegating to others the task of bringing the image to life, so they can sit back and watch everyone make them loads of money. No mountain is too high for an industrious Goat.

Haunted Lighthouse  Capricorn Ghost Trope: Who haunts the old lighthouse? The Capricorn Lighthouse Keeper secretly directed pirates to the shore for a nice payout of bootie until he refused to negotiate and lost his life at the hand and hook of a rogue sea captain. Capricorn’s determination keeps them around through eternity.

Compatibility: Virgos, Taurus, and Pisces are an excellent match for Capricorns; they get each other and speak the same language of appreciation for stability and the love of conquering tasks.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18)

Fixed Air Sign; The Water Bearer; Ruled by Uranus

Darling Aquarians have one foot in the future, one foot in the past, and their heart in the greater good. They’re endearingly free-spirited, sometimes a bit eccentric, mostly independent, and always full of ideas to better their community. And though they are excited about the future, sometimes they get stuck in the past and unintentionally, yet stubbornly, stagnate their growth.

Aquarius Ghost Trope: Haunted brothels and bordellos often claim to have the ghost of their notorious madame, who spent her days caring for her girls and catering to her clients. As times changed, the madame held on to her ways convinced that if it worked once, it’ll work again. The madame’s soft-hearted, optimistic, quirky spirit is surely an Aquarian haunting.

Compatibility: Geminis and Sagittarius are wonderful Aquarius companions sharing their free-spirited and independent nature. But Libras may be what the airy Aquarius needs to keep their feet in the now and balance their big ideas and breakthroughs.

Pisces (February 19-March 20)

Mutable Water Sign; The Fish; Ruled by Neptune

We all should have a Pisces around to teach us how to swim with the current, be sensitive to our surroundings, welcome romance, and remind us to be grateful that we aren’t as emotional as the Fish. Their watery heart creates a deep, swelling compassion which is expressed in the Pisces’ mastery of creativity.

Pisces Ghost Trope: As you step inside the Piscean child’s room and notice the coloring books on the floor, drawings on the walls, and dolls arranged neatly in their cribs, listen closely, and you will hear the sound of the lost child’s laughter. Or maybe you will catch a glimpse out of the corner of your eye of the poor lost soul sitting on her bed, hoping you will play with her.

Compatibility: Taurus, Virgo, and Cancer all value love and long-term relationships like Pisces. Together they create unique and devoted bonds, respect, and fulfilling romance.
